LienDone: lien waiver SaaS for US contractors
Product and frontend work for a SaaS that helps US contractors manage lien waivers, with deep domain fit with the trades we now serve as an agency.
Challenge
US contractors deal with lien waivers as a recurring, error-prone paperwork problem. The product needed to feel trustworthy to trade businesses, not like a generic startup dashboard, while staying fast enough for office managers who live in email and PDFs.
Solution
We shaped product flows and frontend UI around real contractor language and document steps: fewer abstract SaaS metaphors, more explicit waiver states, and interfaces that match how offices actually process paperwork. The work prioritized clarity under deadline pressure over decorative UI. Stack: Next.js App Router, NestJS, Prisma/PostgreSQL, Tailwind, Polar billing, Resend, and pdf-lib for statutory waiver PDFs.
Results
A shipping product oriented to contractor workflows, and a lasting internal playbook for how trades think about risk, paperwork, and trust online. That playbook is why Boilerlykit's agency wedge leads with contractors: we already speak the operational language behind the marketing site.
Outcomes
Why this matters for agency clients
When we design a plumber or GC website, we are not guessing about the industry. LienDone work grounded us in how contractors buy software, chase signatures, and evaluate vendors. They are the same buyers who judge a website in three seconds on mobile.
