What do I actually get when I buy a SaaSForge template?

Accepted Answer

An invite to a private GitHub repository containing the full source - components, API routes, SQL migrations, MDX docs, README. No obfuscated bundles, no DRM, no minification. The repo you receive is the repo we develop in.

Is this a one-time purchase or a subscription?

Accepted Answer

One-time. You pay once for the template tier, you keep repo access, and you keep the updates we publish for that template. No recurring charge on the template code.

Question 3

How many projects can I ship with one license?

Accepted Answer

One commercial shipped product per license. If you reuse the same codebase to launch a second paid commercial product, buy another license. Internal tools, learning projects, and personal side projects do not require additional licenses.

Question 4

Can I use a template for client work?

Accepted Answer

Yes - for one client product per license. If you are an agency shipping multiple client products on the same template, you need one license per client product. We sell team tiers for agencies and consultancies; email sales for pricing.

Can I white-label and resell the template?

Accepted Answer

You can ship your own SaaS or client site on top of it with your brand. You cannot resell the template source itself as a competing developer template. This is the same terms every reputable dev-template vendor uses.

How long do I keep access to updates?

Accepted Answer

For as long as we publish updates to the template you bought. There is no expiry date. If we ever wind down a template or the business, the buyer terms document contingency - you keep what you paid for.

Is Boilerlykit live for purchase right now?

Accepted Answer

We are in a staged rollout. Prices are live and visible on every product page, but the Buy buttons are currently disabled with an "Available Soon" label while we finish the Polar checkout integration and seller review. Join the waitlist on any product page and we will email you the moment checkout opens.

Who handles payment and tax?

Accepted Answer

Polar Software, Inc. is our Merchant of Record. Polar processes payment, issues invoices, calculates and remits sales tax / VAT, and handles chargebacks. You buy from Polar and Polar pays us. For EU / UK buyers this means you get a compliant VAT invoice; for US buyers it means sales tax is handled where applicable.

What currencies can I pay in?

Polar supports checkout in USD by default with automatic currency conversion for international cards. You pay in your local currency; Polar handles the conversion.

What's your refund policy?

Refunds are governed by Polar's Buyer Terms (the Master Services Agreement, §10). Because you receive access to source code at checkout, refund eligibility is narrower than for physical goods - but if something is genuinely broken or misrepresented, we work with Polar to resolve it. Can I pay with PayPal or crypto?

Polar supports major credit and debit cards. PayPal, crypto, and other payment methods depend on Polar's current payment method list at checkout - check the checkout page for the current options.

Can I get an invoice with my company name and VAT number?

Accepted Answer

Yes. At checkout with Polar, you can enter your company name, address, and VAT / tax identification number. Polar issues the invoice with those details.

What Next.js version do the templates use?

Next.js 16 on SaaSForge Starter, AI, and Core (App Router, React 19). SaaSForge Agency ships on Next.js 16 as well but on Tailwind v3 + TypeScript 5.5 - we are completing the Tailwind v4 / TypeScript 5.9 migration on Agency later in 2026.

Can I swap Supabase for another database or auth provider?

On SaaSForge Starter, yes - it is auth/DB-agnostic by design. On SaaSForge AI and Core, Supabase is deeply integrated (Auth, RLS, and pgvector on AI). You can swap, but plan 1-2 days to re-wire auth flows and RLS patterns against a different provider.

Can I deploy to Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, or self-hosted?

Vercel is the default and most tested path. Starter works on Cloudflare Pages with static export. AI and Core rely on Node runtime for streaming AI responses and Stripe webhooks - Cloudflare Workers requires migration work. Docker + self-hosted is documented as an escape hatch.

What's included vs what do I build?

Accepted Answer

Included: authentication, billing wiring, database schema, multi-tenant patterns (Core), RAG pipeline (AI), CMS (Agency), marketing site, docs, theme system, SEO surface. Your job: your product's actual features, your branding, your data model extensions, your specific integrations.

Does the template support TypeScript strict mode?

Yes. Starter, AI, Core are TypeScript 5.9 with strict mode on. Agency is TypeScript 5.5 strict (upgrade pending). Strict mode catches the refactor-time errors that sloppy typing hides until production.

Question 18

Can I use my own ORM (Prisma, Drizzle) or query builder?

Yes. We use Supabase's typed client by default, but the templates do not fight Prisma, Drizzle, or Kysely. Drop your preferred ORM on top of the Postgres schema we ship; the migrations remain valid.

Do the templates include tests?

SaaSForge Core ships Vitest unit tests and Playwright e2e tests on the billing and auth paths - the places that matter. Starter and Agency ship lighter test coverage (primarily smoke tests). AI ships unit tests on the RAG pipeline and credit metering.

How do I get support after purchase?

Start with the bundled MDX docs in the repo - each template has 15+ guides covering setup, configuration, deployment, and common pitfalls. For issues not covered in docs, email support@boilerlykit.com from the address on your Polar receipt and we will respond directly.

Is there a Discord or community?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. We are a small team and we would rather answer buyer emails directly (and document the recurring questions back into the MDX docs) than run a Discord we cannot staff properly. This may change as the business grows.

How are updates delivered?

Pushed to the private GitHub repository you already have access to. You pull updates the same way you pull any upstream - `git pull`, resolve conflicts in your fork, ship. Major breaking changes are announced in the repo CHANGELOG and communicated by email to buyers.

Question 23

What if you stop shipping updates for a template?

Accepted Answer

Your repo access does not expire and the license is perpetual. If we ever wind down a template, we document the final state in the CHANGELOG and recommend the successor template (usually another Boilerlykit tier). Buyer protection is in the Polar buyer terms.

Question 24

Can I hire you to customize a template for me?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally, yes - for projects that align with what we are shipping next (so the work can feed back into the template). Email us with project scope, budget, and timeline. We say no more often than yes, because our focus is improving the templates themselves.

How do I report a bug or security issue?

Accepted Answer

Bugs: open an issue in the private repo you received at checkout. Security: email privacy@boilerlykit.com (please do not open a public issue for security reports). We respond to security reports within 48 hours.
